Longines presented the press with the programme for the 2018 Longines Paris Eiffel Jumping, which will take place from 5 to 7 July 2018. This competition, the tenth leg of the Longines Global Champions Tour, will bring together the best international riders and horses onto the Champ de Mars, with the emblematic Eiffel Tower in the background. Once again, the Swiss watch brand lends its name to this great five-star show jumping event and provides its timekeeping expertise for all the trials. On May 30th, Hublot hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony with world class Dutch athlete Dafne Schippers to officially open its very first Hublot Boutique in the Netherlands. Joyce DiDonato, the internationally acclaimed mezzo-soprano and ambassador for peace and humanity, has been honoured with the 15th Glashütte Original MusicFestivalAward. The American opera singer accepted the 25,000 Euro award Monday evening at her concert in the Dresden Kulturpalast, presented by Glashütte Original Managing Director Frank Kittel and Festival Director Jan Vogler. German moderator Annabelle Mandeng presided over the ceremony. In 2018, the extraordinary surroundings of the Eiffel Tower will host the ninth edition of the Longines Future Tennis Aces tournament from Thursday 31 May ton Saturday 2 June. It is the first time that the competition will bring together the girls and the boys, all aged under 13 years old, to take part in their respective tournament. They all have been selected by their tennis federation to represent their countries – Australia, Austria, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Poland, Russia, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, the United Kingdom and the United States – and will have the opportunity to compete on clay court under the same conditions of Roland-Garros, of which Longines has been the Official Partner and Timekeeper since 2007.

Phillips in Association with Bacs & Russo, the world’s leading watch auction house, announces a new world record for the highest result ever achieved for an Omega timepiece sold at auction. This new milestone was set on 12 May in Geneva during the first session of Geneva Watch Auction: SEVEN, beating its own previous record - a stainless steel Omega tourbillon, that sold for CHF 1.4 million during Geneva Watch Auction: SIX in November 2017.

It took the watchmakers of Carl F. Bucherer, the jewellers of Bucherer Fine Jewellery and the specialists of Bündnerbike a year to design and produce the Harley-Davidson Blue Edition. A team of eight employees from both companies contributed all of their expertise. More than 2,500 working hours were invested in this project, which combines Swiss craftsmanship and the passion for exclusive, tailor-made and very cool products.

At the Phillips spring auction, held in Geneva on 13 May 2018, the only 1815 “Homage to Walter Lange” watch ever made in a steel case went under the hammer for an unbeatable price of CHF 852,500 (US$ 852,414; € 713,627; incl. buyer’s premium).
