Breitling - Triathlon Squad

The recently introduced Breitling squad concept consist in bringing together three individuals who have reached the pinnacles of their professions. Following the Cinema Squad (Brad Pitt, Charlize Theron, Adam Driver and Daniel Wu), the Surfers Squad (Stephanie Gilmore, Sally Fitzgibbons and Kelly Slater) and the Explorers Squad (Bertrand Piccard, David de Rothschild and Inge Solheim), Breitling introduces its Triathlon Squad made up of Jan Frodeno, Chris McCormack et Daniela Ryf. Triathletes are among the most remarkable of all athletes, as they have to be able to deliver world-class performances, not only in a single discipline but as swimmers, cyclists, and runners.

Two years after its launch, the Record range by Longines continues to expand. In addition to a growing selection of watches to choose from, the basic reasons to buy into the range remain convincing. They can all be found on the spec sheet, which is where we’ll begin. COSC-certified movement with 65-hour power reserve and silicon balance spring; 40 mm steel case with sunray brushed dial, baton markers and polished hands; alligator strap or 7-link steel bracelet with folding buckle. Prices start at CHF 2,010 (strap or bracelet), climbing to €5,860 for a solid rose gold case. There’s also a 30 mm ladies’ version and various diamond-set options. So that’s it, as far as the technical details are concerned. All that remains is to put them into context, and talk a little bit about design.

Phillips in Association with Bacs & Russo, the world’s leading watch auction house, announces a new world record for the highest result ever achieved for an Omega timepiece sold at auction. This new milestone was set on 12 May in Geneva during the first session of Geneva Watch Auction: SEVEN, beating its own previous record - a stainless steel Omega tourbillon, that sold for CHF 1.4 million during Geneva Watch Auction: SIX in November 2017.

It took the watchmakers of Carl F. Bucherer, the jewellers of Bucherer Fine Jewellery and the specialists of Bündnerbike a year to design and produce the Harley-Davidson Blue Edition. A team of eight employees from both companies contributed all of their expertise. More than 2,500 working hours were invested in this project, which combines Swiss craftsmanship and the passion for exclusive, tailor-made and very cool products.
